MILLWALL SACK IAN HOLLOWAY

Ian Holloway Millwall Manager 2014-15 Millwall have sacked Ian Holloway. Holloway's tenure was brought to an end following the 4-1 home defeat to Norwich. Millwall have managed just THREE wins since October and find themselves EIGHT points from safety. A club statement said   "This was a hard decision to take because we very much hoped that Ollie would prove to be the man to take us forward and on to the next level. "I would like to thank him for his efforts, and in particular for keeping us in the Championship last May. "This season, though, has proved to be an extremely challenging one and we now find ourselves facing another uphill battle to avoid relegation. "Ian Holloway remains a fine manager and it was his impressive track record which led us to appoint him some 14 months ago. "However, our view is that the decision to part company at this stage is in the best interests of the football club going forward. "Neil Harris has agre...

Report: Liverpool 2-1 Manchester City

MANCHESTER CITY'S title hopes are hanging by a thread after losing 2-1 against Liverpool at Anfield.  Phillipe Coutinho scored the winner for the second successive season against City at Anfield after Edin Dzeko cancelled out Jordan Henderson's super opener. The result leaves City 5 points behind Chelsea having played a game more than there tittle rivals. For Liverpool it means they are top of the Premier League form table and unbeaten in 2015 they move up to 5th above Southampton and only only 1 point behind Arsenal who are in action against Everton later today and 2 behind Manchester United. Liverpool, who only returned from Turkey at 4.30 on Friday morning showed no signs on tiredness. However it was Coutinho who didn't play in Turkey that was at the heart of the Liverpool attack. The sharpness of Coutinho helped Liverpool take the lead in the 11th minute when he stole the ball of Vincent Kompany on the halfway line Raheem Sterling then slipped the ball out t...

MILLWALL 3-3 BRADFORD

MILLWALL and Bradford will have to do it all again in a replay after a thrilling 3-3 draw at The Den. The Lions fell behind to Billy Knot's opener on just 6 minutes before Scott McDonald headed Millwall level before half time. Alan Dunne, Matthew Briggs, Ed Upson, Richard Chaplow and Fuller were all recalled to the team for the match. Phil Parkinson recalled Andrew Sheehan to replace the injured Andrew Davies, while Ben Wiliams came in to replace the ineligible Jordan Pickford. Th...

Champions League Round up

It was an interesting match day 3 in the Champions League for our English teams. There were wins for Arsenal and Chelsea. Man City threw away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 in Russia and Liverpool were taught how to play football by the World's best. The first game involving English teams was of course Man City's game in Moscow which was played behind close doors. City were two goals up after 63 minutes before CSKA came back and equalised through a controversial penalty. No problems for Chelsea they sit at the top of their group with 7 points after a 6-0 win over Maribor but they have problems up front now. Remy and Costa expected to miss the weekend game at Old Trafford Chelsea fans I want to hear from you on my Champions League Q&A on twitter. Liverpool were beaten 3-0 by Real Madrid at Afield which leaves them 3rd in the group Ronaldo and Benzema with the European Champions's goals. Arsenal came from 1-0 to win 2-1 Gibbs and Podolski scoring for them but it was n...
