MILLWALL 3-3 BRADFORD

MILLWALL and Bradford will have to do it all again in a replay after a thrilling 3-3 draw at The Den.

The Lions fell behind to Billy Knot's opener on just 6 minutes before Scott McDonald headed Millwall level before half time.

Riccardo Fuller turned home Scott McDonald's excellent cross and the Lions looked in control but a an own goal from Sid Nelson restored parity before Knot tucked away his second to give the visitors the lead again.

But Fuller ensured that Millwall would be in the hat for the fourth round draw after a super finish.

Ian Holloway had selection issues as his squad was hit by injury and suspension with Mark Beevers (back), Lee Gregory (ankle) and Shaun Williams (banned) were all unavailable.

Alan Dunne, Matthew Briggs, Ed Upson, Richard Chaplow and Fuller were all recalled to the team for the match.

Phil Parkinson recalled Andrew Sheehan to replace the injured Andrew Davies, while Ben Wiliams came in to replace the ineligible Jordan Pickford.

The Bantams who are 5th in League One and unbeaten in their last nine games made a very good start.

They sized on a ball given away by Richard Chaplow and Billy Knott drilled just wide after two minutes.

James Hanson then flicked the ball across to Jon Stead who acrobatically fired just over the bar before Andrew Haildays shot was deflected for a corner.

The goal arrived on six minutes from that corner when James Hanson headed down for Knott to fire in from close range leaving the Millwall stopper Forde with no chance.

In response Riccardo Fuller saw a shot go wide from the edge of the box before having a goal disallowed for offside.

Bradford then missed a great opportunity to go two goals to the good in the 24th minute when Halliday latched onto Hanson's flick before riffling over from inside the six yard box.

Scott McDonald then pulled Millwall level when he calmly headed home Lee Martin's cross.

Millwall's confidence grew after the equaliser but they had to reply on a point blank save from Forde to keep out Knott's shot on the stroke of half time.

The start of the second period was a complete opposite to the first as Millwall came flying out of the blocks and the pressure finally paid off when McDonald drifted over a fabulous ball over to Fuller to finished well past the keeper.

However, the lead lasted only four minutes as James Hanson's shot deflected onto the bar and onto the shins of young Sid Nelson who could do nothing as the ball rolled into the net.

That goal shook Millwall and they did not look as confident and Fillpe Morias got down the right hand Side and put the ball into the box for `Knott to tap in to but Bradford in pole position for round four.

But there was a late twist in the tail as Fuller swept home Lee Martin's cross to make sure that Millwall will be in the hat for the fourth round draw on Monday.

EVERTON SACK SAM ALLARDYCE

EVERTON have sacked Sam Allardyce, with Marco Silva set to replace him at Goodison Park.  Allardyce leaves Goodison after just 7 months in charge. Sacking Chris Hughton - Is it the right decision?

Another season has come to an end. This is the period where you will see managers come and go and players come in and depart clubs. The 2018/19 has now come to and end and Brighton finished in 17th place. I believe that if you had offered that to them most Brighton fans would have accepted a third successive season of Premier League football. Add onto that, The Seagulls also made the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Chris Hughton has paid the price for Brighton's poor form in 2019. This decision however, seems extremely harsh. Here is his overall record in charge of the club. Games: 215 Wins: 88 Draws: 57 Defeats: 70 That works out to a win percentage of around 40% that is not bad for a team that's budget is pennies compared to some in the Premier League. Brighton staying in the top flight is an achievement in its self and something that should not be looked over.  Hughton took over at Brighton back in 2014 when the club was struggling at the bottom of t...

Southampton needed a Shane Long header 11 minutes from time to rescue a point against Steve McClaren's men at St James' Park last Sunday and the Southampton boss saw plenty of areas for Improvement. 'I wasn't impressed because I was not happy about the first half. Already in the Vitesse match we had too many mistakes the same in the first half at Newcastle." "All the dangers of Newcastle came from faults. The second half the reaction of the players and the physical state in the last 15 minutes was very good because we had the best chances to win the game" "Starting the season with a draw away against Newcastle isn't a bad result bur normally, if we play our level we win the game.
