League Cup Semi-Final Leg 1 Preview: Chelsea v Arsenal

CHELSEA manager Antonio Conte looks set to field a strong side as he looks to get Chelsea in the best possible position in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.  Chelsea singed Ross Barkley last week but he is not expected to be involved. Conte said this about his new singing. "Wednesday night is very soon for him. But we must be happy because his physical condition is very good, he has started to train with us and understand our football." Meanwhile Arsenal go into the game on the back of a 4-2 defeat at Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup. Considering their position in the Premier League this is probably the best chance that Arsenal have of a trophy this season. This is what Arsene Wenger said in his press conference: "In the Premier League both teams have 90 minutes to get the three points, in this tie over 180 minutes its a bit different. "You want to go there, be solid, and try to take advantage of every mistake, of every weakne...

BREAKING NEWS: PALACE SACK DE BOER

CRYSTAL PALACE have sacked Frank de Boer. de Boer lasted just FOUR Premier League games the last of which was yesterday's 1-0 defeat at Burnley the clubs 4th Premier League defeat in a row without scoring. Palace became the first team to lose their first four games without scoring a goal. A Palace statement read the following: It is understood that former Fulham, Liverpool, West Brom and England manager Roy Hodgson will be the man to replace de Boer at Palace within the next 24 hours. de Boer now holds the record as the manager with the shortest ever reign Premier League reign with just four games. Les Reed at Charlton held the record with just 7 games in charge. My View: I watched the game yesterday and Palace were very unlucky, they had an absolute nightmare start and that pack bass was just an awful mistake. After that goal went in they became very nervous and were making a lot of mistakes but they held out and then were able to start creating chances themselve...

MILLWALL 3-4 IPSWICH -THINGS WE LEARNED

WHAT  did we learn from Millwall's 4-3 defeat to Ipswich at The Den last night?   Millwall lost for the second time this season after a crazy game against Ipswich Town here are some things we learnt from the game.  1. Archer Needs to be dropped Millwall have conceded six goals this season and Archer could well have saved 4 of them. In the game at the weekend against Bolton in real time the free-kick looked unstoppable but on further looking he could well have saved it. Last Night the first goal is an awful one to concede it is straight at him and for some reason he is diving when he could easily catch it! Very frustrating for us as fans to see that!  Harris did not spare him in the press conference either saying that 'it was a horrendous effort by the goalkeeper, of course he shows save it, that's what he's in the goal for!' That for me shows that there is a possibility that he may not be between the sticks come Saturday. 2. When it...

FT REPORT: MILLWALL 3-4 IPSWICH TOWN

MILLWALL lost out in a seven goal thriller to Ipswich at The Den. The Lions were looking for their first win of the season against an Ipswich side with a 100% record so far. Jed Wallace gave Millwall the lead after just 45 seconds as the Lions once again made a first start to a game in the Championship. However, just five minutes later it was all square as Jordan Archer parried Joe Garner's effort into his own net. Martyn Waghorn on his return to The Den put Ipswich in front before a quick Millwall equaliser through Aiden O'Brien, his first of the season but the Tractor boys would go into half time in front as the Millwall defence failed to handle David McGoldrick after he got passed Shaun Hutchinson, Archer came out and looked to have forced him wide but McGoldrick managed to get the ball across to Waghorn who put the ball into the net despite the best efforts of Byron Webster on the line. The pace of the first half was taken into the second and Millwall continued...

Championship Preview and opening weekend predictions

So it's that time of the year again where the season previews begin, as we look forward to another 9 months of football the longest 3 months of the year are over as we embark on a new season.  Here we go with the Championship Preview. The Championship is always a tough league to call and this year its going to even tougher with up to (well I think anyway) 13 teams that can challenge for promotion to the Premier League. 20 (yes 20!) of the 24 teams have played in the Premier League so it shows how tough this league is going to be this year. There has been huge amounts of money spent in the second tier this summer with Middlesbrough spending no less than £30 Million on new players. The season gets underway on Friday night when Derby travel to Sunderland both teams will be looking to be in the promotion mix come May so it is a great game to get us underway for the season and its live of course on Sky Sports Football. So then lets run through the chang...
