The Holders of the F.A Cup are out after first defeat at home in over a year.

Manchester United entered the 4th round of the F.A Cup after knocking out 10 Men, and holders, Manchester City . The holders started the game well but on 10 minutes, after all of city’s chances, you know what happened, Wayne Rooney scored the first goal of the game, from an Antino Valencia cross, with a great header past the 6ft 8inch goalkeeper who had no chance.

Then just two minutes later it got difficult for City after their captain, Kompany, was sent off for serious foul play. After that everything began to go the way of Manchester United. After Kompany was sent off from the resulting free kick came the second goal. Nani fed in Evra, who gave it to Welbeck, who then scored with a great effort that again gave the keeper with no chance.

Then, when City fans thought could not get any worse, Kolorv was penalised for a tackle on Welbeck and Manchester United were awarded a penalty. Wayne Rooney, looking for his second goal of the game, stood up and his penalty was saved by the goalkeeper but Rooney headed in the rebound  and it was 0-3 to Manchester United at the break.

At the start of the second half again City started well but it was Utd who had the first chance but it was well gathered by the City Keeper , after that City began to look a bit like league leaders and then they would be rewarded because on the 47th minute Evra brought down Richards on the edge of the box and from the resulting free kick Kolorv scored and City had a lifeline. After that the return of Paul Scholes and a Big roar from the visiting Utd fans but it was his mistake which lead to City’s  2nd Goal Richards got away and crossed it for Aguro who’s first time shot was spilled by Lindigaard and Aguro scored got the rebound and it was a nervy last 25 minutes for the visitors Utd but they held on to be the first team to win at City for over a year.  Sir Alex said after the game “it was one of the best derby’s I have seen in a long time”. Roberto Mancini said, “the sending off was outrageous and it will be appealed.

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
