HARRY KANE broke Crystal Palace hearts as he headed home an 88th minute winner at Selhurst Park.
It was Kane's 35th goal of the season and his 150th career club goal, the goal equalled his record of goals for last season as he once again looks on course for another stunning season in front of goal.
His header broke the hearts of Palace who were denied a precious point in the battle against relegation.
One man who will be thanking Kane for scoring will be Spurs right back Serge Aurier who had missed an open goal a few minutes prior to Kane's goal. The result saw Spurs go above Chelsea into the top four on goal difference before the Blues's trip to Manchester United.
The defeat for Palace see's them remain 17th in the table outside the drop zone on goal difference. They also play Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in three of their next four fixtures.
It was a tight and tense affair in the first half and Spurs were unlucky to be denied two penalties. The first being in the eighth minute with Wayne Hennessey appearing to trip Ben Davies in the box but referee Kevin Friend was not convinced. The Welsh keeper then made a great save to deny Harry Kane moments later.
The referee did then point to the spot but only to change his mind moments later. Harry Kane was tripped in the box by Timothy Fosu-Mensah but the linesman raised his flag for offside meaning that Friend gave a free-kick to Palace instead of awarding Spurs the penalty.
Harry Kane appeared to be having a very rare off day and proving he is actually human when he volleyed a shot wide from inside the six yard box eight minutes after the restart. Hennessey then saved well from Serge Aurier as Spurs begun to dominate the second half.
Hennessey was in inspired form and then made an outstanding save on 71 minutes as he was at full stretch to deny Ben Davies' low effort before he had to be alert again on 82 minutes to keep out a Kane shot that Benteke diverted towards goal.
Aurier had the best chance of the game and somehow failed to convert Ben Davies's low cross. Instead of taping the ball home he somehow stood on the ball instead of putting it in the net.
However, Kane saved his teammate's blushes in the 88th minute as he headed home from Christan Eriksen's corner to give Spurs a huge three points in the battle for the top four and left Palace looking over their shoulders.
Spurs are now the only side in the Premier League to have not lost a game in 2018.
