Sweden 2-3 England- Sweden are out.

3-2

England have ended any hopes Sweden had of making the knockout stages of Euro 2012, and left Roy Hodgson's men in a strong position.

England need a point from their final game with Ukraine to secure a place in the knockout stages of Euro 2012. England had previously never beaten Sweden in a competitive match and everything started well for England as they were in complete control for the first half before taking the lead through Andy Carroll after a superb ball in from his Liverpool team mate Steven Gerrard.

Half time approached and England went in at the break 1-0 up, the start to the second half was poor as England gave to sloppy goals away the first game from a free kick which Hart saved and bounced off Ashely Cole and clipped off Glen Johnson and went down as an own goal.

England then collapsed again from another a free kick, lifted in by Larsson, and found the head of an unmarked Mellberg who converted and sweden were in the lead for the first time in the game.

Walcott surprised at the strike.
Then Roy Hodgson made his best ever sub when he took off James Milner and put on Theo Walcott and after just 3 touches of the ball he scored a great leveller and brought the game back to 2-2.

Walcott magic then worked again when he set up Danny Welbeck for a beautiful back heel into the back of the net to leave the keeper with no chance and send the sweedes home.
Hodgson celebrates as England confirm victory.

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
