Alex's Predictions

I'm back with my latest round of Predictions for this weekend's Premier League games. Plus I'm putting a new segment in, it is called the Saturday 6 pick read on to find out more.

West Brom v Arsenal - Saturday 12.30

This is going to be a tricky game for Arsenal, if this does not go well for them and the results this weekend go against them they are going to find it hard to get into that top 4. The records are good only 1 defeat in their last 12 PL games against West Brom but that was this fixture last season. I definitely think this has the potential to be a tough game for the visitors as West Brom are good at home.

My Prediction: 2-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Crystal Palace v Watford

Palace are beginning to turn the corner after back to back wins and things seem to click under Big Sam.They have won 3 of their last 5 games and most importantly have kept back to back clean sheets which is important. Watford are a side I find hard to judge they can be so good someone weeks and then dreadful the next, they can't defend for their lives which means Palace will have chances and I am backing them to win.

My Prediction 2-1 (7/4 with Sky Bet)

Everton v Hull

This is the weekend home banker if you ask me! Everton just 1 defeat at home all season against a Hull side that find it very hard on the road. I know there has been drama at Everton this week regarding Lukaku but that won't stop him on the pitch him and Everton are full of goals.

My Prediction: 3-0 (4/1 with Sky Bet)

Stoke v Chelsea

Now this is a tough one, this all depends on what Stoke turn up. If its the Stoke that turn up against Tottenham the other week then Chelsea to victory. Stoke are a different side at home and they could cause some problems for Conte and Chelsea they will be fresher than the Blues as well this game will have goals but I can't split them.

My Prediction: 2-2 (2/1 with Sky Bet)

Sunderland v Burnley

Well this is huge for Sunderland, they must win this game because they could be well cut adrift if the results go against them. A big well done to Jermain Defoe for his England call up and he has earned it with some great performances and goals. Burnley were unlucky at Liverpool but Sunderland need the points more and I think they will get them

My Prediction: 2-1 (9/4 with Sky Bet)

West Ham v Leicester

This is an interesting one West Ham have not been great at home and Leicester are still yet to win away from home this season. Leicester were great the other night in the Champions League and they will be on a high going into this but I just don't see them winning this game I think it will be a draw

My Prediction: 1-1 (3/1 with Sky Bet)

Bournemouth v Swansea

Bournemouth will be happy after that win over West Ham, it was a welcomed boost which I think does enough to keep them up, this is a big game for Swansea they have been dragged into the relegation battle again after their defeat against Hull last week and if they lose this which I think they will then it all gets tight down there again.

My Prediction: 2-0 (9/4 with Sky Bet)

Middlesbrough v Man Utd - Sunday 12PM

Well the departure of Karanka to me was no surprise it is something that had been coming he looked like he had lost the thrill out being a manager and to be honest he looked like a lost soul on the touchline in recent games. Boro have not won in 10 PL games and that is a very tough ask when they are playing Manchester United, they are a team in an interesting position. Jose says they are all tired but they are professional and should be able to get the job done.

My Prediction: 0-2 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Tottenham v Southampton

Tottenham have been so good at home this season. They have not lost at home in the league and have won their last 9 league games there so its going to be difficult for Claude Puel's men. I know Spurs are going to be without Harry Kane and that is going to be a loss but I feel they have enough to get past Southampton.

My Prediction: 1-0 (7/4 with Sky Bet)

Man City v Liverpool

The Weekends big game! This is massive for both sides as they both need the points to get into the top four. City will be on a bit of downer after that Champions League exit to Monaco, was disappointed with them, they did not start well and they got punished, if they do the same on Sunday then they will get punished again. Liverpool have a good recent record against City and the big teams, the game they play suits these type of games and with them being the fresher team I think that will work in their favour.

My Prediction: 1-2 (9/2 with Sky Bet)

Saturday 6Pick

Palace to Win
Everton to Win
Stoke and Chelsea to Draw
Sunderland to Win
West Ham and Leicester to Draw
Newcastle to Win

£10 accumulator on those outcomes @153/1 would return £1,548.2 (all odds with Sky Bet)

Sacking Chris Hughton - Is it the right decision?

Another season has come to an end. This is the period where you will see managers come and go and players come in and depart clubs. The 2018/19 has now come to and end and Brighton finished in 17th place. I believe that if you had offered that to them most Brighton fans would have accepted a third successive season of Premier League football. Add onto that, The Seagulls also made the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Chris Hughton has paid the price for Brighton's poor form in 2019. This decision however, seems extremely harsh. Here is his overall record in charge of the club. Games: 215 Wins: 88 Draws: 57 Defeats: 70 That works out to a win percentage of around 40% that is not bad for a team that's budget is pennies compared to some in the Premier League. Brighton staying in the top flight is an achievement in its self and something that should not be looked over.  Hughton took over at Brighton back in 2014 when the club was struggling at the bottom of t...

EVERTON SACK SAM ALLARDYCE

EVERTON have sacked Sam Allardyce, with Marco Silva set to replace him at Goodison Park.  Allardyce leaves Goodison after just 7 months in charge. Everton finished the season in 8th position in the Premier League table with 49 points, 12 fewer than they achieved last season. Allardyce met with the club's majority shareholder Farhead Moshiri this morning (Wednesday) where he was told that his services were no longer required. This is believed to be have been a decision that come from an Everton board meeting on Tuesday afternoon. It is believed that Allardyce will receive the vast majority of of the final 12 months of his contract which Sky Sports estimate is around £6m. A statement on the clubs website read: "On behalf of the chairman, board of directors and Mr Moshiri, I'd like to thank Sam for the job he has done at Everton over the last seven months. Sam was brought in at a challenging time last season to provide us with stability and we are grateful to h...

Barclays Premier League Preview: Southampton v Everton

Ronald Koeman will return to the dugout this weekend after missing last week's match at Newcastle after having ankle surgery.  He will be hoping that his Saints side can cut out the errors as they welcome Everton to St Mary's this weekend. Southampton needed a Shane Long header 11 minutes from time to rescue a point against Steve McClaren's men at St James' Park last Sunday and the Southampton boss saw plenty of areas for Improvement. 'I wasn't impressed because I was not happy about the first half. Already in the Vitesse match we had too many mistakes the same in the first half at Newcastle." "All the dangers of Newcastle came from faults. The second half the reaction of the players and the physical state in the last 15 minutes was very good because we had the best chances to win the game" "Starting the season with a draw away against Newcastle isn't a bad result bur normally, if we play our level we win the game. " Sou...
