MILLWALL SACK STEVE LOMAS

MILLWALL have sacked Steve Lomas after 6 months in charge at The Den. Axed Lomas A statement on the clubs website read: Millwall have announced that manager Steve Lomas has been relieved of his duties following the 4-0 Boxing Day defeat at Watford which saw The Lions slip to 20th in the Championship table. Coach Neil Harris and Academy Director Scott Fitzgerald, both former players at The Den, will take temporary charge of the team for the trip to Doncaster on Sunday, and until a new permanent manager is appointed. Lions CEO Andy Ambler said: "We are very disappointed that it hasn't worked out for Steve. He has been thoroughly professional in his approach to the job during his short period with the club and remains a very promising young manager. However, the board feels that it is in the best interests of Millwall that we make the change at this time and the search for a successor to Steve begins immediately. FULHAM SACK MARTIN JOL

Fulham have sacked Martin Jol after 5 straight defeats. West Ham beat them 3-0 yesterday and Fulham never managed a shot on target. Fulham have only won 3 of their 12 Premier League games this season. Rene Meulensteen who was appointed Head Coach to work alongside Jol 2 weeks ago has been named as Jol's replacement at Craven Cottage. FLITCROFT AXED BY BARNSLEY

Barnsley have sacked manager David Flitcroft following a 0-3 home defeat to fellow strugglers Birmingham at Oakwell. End of the Line for Flitcroft  A statement read: Barnsley Football Club can confirm First Team Manager David Flitcroft has been relieved of his position at the Football Club. Technical Coach Martin Scott and Strength and Conditioning Coach Guy Proctor have also parted company with the Club. Assistant Manager Micky Mellon has been placed in caretaker charge of first team affairs, assisted by Development Coach Paul Heckingbottom in the meantime. There will be no further statements from the Club until Wednesday 4 th  December 2013. BARKER SACKED BY CRAWLEY

Richie Barker has been sacked by Crawley after 7 league games without a win a statement read: Sacked Barker Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that it has terminated the contract of First Team manager Richie Barker with immediate effect. The club will make an announcement as soon as possible on who will look after team affairs in the interim period and we ask our supporters to have patience while the process of finding a new manager is undertaken. The club will not be making any further comment at this stage Barker is now favourite to take over at Pompey after they sacked Guy Whittingham.

POYET NAMED SUNDERLAND HEAD COACH

Sunderland have named former Brighton manager Gus Poyet as the clubs new manager. Poyet was very successful as a player in the Premier League with Chelsea, he was also praised for the job he done as Assistant manager at Tottenham back in 2008. His only job as a manager was with Brighton where he led them to the League One title in his first season. His second season he led them to a 10th place finish in the Championship before last season leading them to 4th before being sacked in June  this year.
