FT REPORT: Scunthorpe United 0-0 Millwall

Chief Reporter Alex Grace reports from Glanford Park. Millwall have ended their run of three successive defeats in all competitions and kept their first clean sheet of the season after a stalemate at Glanford Park. Scunthorpe who have won four of the last six meetings between the sides including the 2009 League One Play-Off Final spurred the best chance from the penalty spot in the second half. Paddy Madden saw his effort from 12 yards go over the bar. Both sides hit the woodwork twice in an entertaining    0-0. Millwall manager Neil Harris made the bold step of dropping long serving goalkeeper David Forde who has been receiving criticism from fans in recent weeks with summer recruit Jordan Archer who made a couple of fantastic saves. Ben Thompson also started in a three man Millwall midfield. On a hot Saturday afternoon it was Millwall who were feeling the heat after just five minutes when Scunthorpe created the first clear cut chance of the game as the ball was play...

FT REPORT: Charlton 2-1 Hull City

FT REPORT: Charlton Athletic vs Hull City Brandon Smith reports Hulls trip to South London on Saturday meant the clash between two teams who hoped to continue their unbeaten record with Charlton coming off the back of a well fought draw at Derby which saw last seasons joint top scorer Tony Watt snatch a goal, however the Irishman was an injury doubt for the addicks.  it was winter 1985 when Hull last beat Charlton at the Valley and they were looking to try and renew that record with Sone Aluko In great form. A relatively unchanged squad for the Tigers with Akpom and Jelavic continuing their partnership from the start. Charlton, who are still without their Goalkeeper Henderson through injury, continued to use loan signing Makienok as their frontman.  The Tigers had their first opportunity at goal written off through Nikica Jelavić being offside only for Icelandic talisman Johann Berg Gudmundsonn to then win a free kick in the attacking half but nothing was to ...

FT REPORT: Hull 2-1 Fulham

FT REPORT: Fulham Vs Hull City Wednesday nights clash between last seasons favourites for promotion and this seasons favourites was seemingly going to be an interesting affair.  Especially when Fulham had taken a draw from their first two games of this season and Hull was looking to snatch all 3 points at home in the KC. Allan McGregor also had a point to prove after his blunder cost the Tigers a win at Wolverhampton. Abel Hernandez Rejoined the men in Orange on their outing to Craven Cottage after serving his 3 match ban from last seasons altercation with Manchester United defender Phil Jones. However it was surprising for the Uruguayan to start after a showcase of Jelavic And Akpom looked likely to be the Hull forwards again.  Hull City came out guns blazing with Sone Aluko producing good footwork to pick out Andrew Robertson just inside the box who's shot was the first of a double package of good football from the Lively Aluko who then was given space by Da...

Hello!

Hello! My name is Brandon and I will hopefully be helping Alex to bring you in depth reports on football matches from throughout the football leagues. I have a keen interest in football and am hoping to pursue a career in football and media and so what better place to start than a blog with a friend who wishes to go down the same route? I've only done a few practice reports so they may not be the professional standard, but hopefully I can improve my writing and analysing skills to be able to bring you a good standard of reportage on the beautiful game!

Report: Liverpool 1-0 Bournemouth

LIVERPOOL controversially made it two wins from two and kept up their 100% Premier League record this season. Christian Benteke who cost Liverpool £32.5m from Aston Villa in the summer fired home in front of the Kop 26 minutes into his Anfield debut . However, there was controversy as Philipe Coutinho who was in an offside position and he also went to strike Jordan's Henderson's cross, under the new offside rule the goal should not have been given. For Bournemouth it means two successive 1-0 defeats and they would have felt even more aggrieved when Captain Tommy Elphick's header was disallowed for a foul on Liverpool defender Dejan Lovern after 10 minutes. Brendan Rodgers fielded the same eleven that beat Stoke on the opening weekend of the season last weekend, meaning that Christian Benteke would get his home debut and leave Danny Ings waiting for his. Last seasons manager of the year Howe made two changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Aston Villa last Saturday...

The second half the reaction of the players and the physical state in the last 15 minutes was very good because we had the best chances to win the game" "Starting the season with a draw away against Newcastle isn't a bad result bur normally, if we play our level we win the game. " Sou...
