FT REPORT: Hull 2-1 Fulham

FT REPORT: Fulham Vs Hull City

Wednesday nights clash between last seasons favourites for promotion and this seasons favourites was seemingly going to be an interesting affair.

Especially when Fulham had taken a draw from their first two games of this season and Hull was looking to snatch all 3 points at home in the KC. Allan McGregor also had a point to prove after his blunder cost the Tigers a win at Wolverhampton.

Abel Hernandez Rejoined the men in Orange on their outing to Craven Cottage after serving his 3 match ban from last seasons altercation with Manchester United defender Phil Jones. However it was surprising for the Uruguayan to start after a showcase of Jelavic And Akpom looked likely to be the Hull forwards again.

Hull City came out guns blazing with Sone Aluko producing good footwork to pick out Andrew Robertson just inside the box who's shot was the first of a double package of good football from the Lively Aluko who then was given space by David Meyler to have a shot of his own from outside the box which also failed to hit the target but nonetheless showed Steve Bruce's men's determination.

Curtis Davies' shot then skimmed the crossbar from a corner as Hull still continued to press for a goal and this was the first action to get the Hull City faithful off their seats.

It was then the Side giving pressure who took the lead in the 34th minute as Andrew Robertson picked out Elmohamady Following a set piece which allowed the Egyptian to direct a header downwards and past Bettinelli.

Fulham then tried to pull their socks up but their efforts were only rewarded with a booking for Ben Pringle after a silly foul on Hull frontman Abel Hernandez.

Matt Smith then attempted to put The London side back on par with a shot from outside the box, but this was comfortably saved by Alan McGregor, no error this time from the Scotsman.

Then it was Marcus Bettinelli in the firing line after Akpom and Hernandez both went in for a promising ball prompting a brave save by the England U21 who saved the ball, but took a leg to the upper thigh for his efforts which marked the end of his night unfortunately but was the start of the night for Andy Lonergan who surely did not anticipate this just before half time.

This was the first of a double blow for the men in white who seemed to have got on the wrong side of Lady Luck as Matt Smith also was replaced by Moussa Dembele to make his second substitute appearance of this season.

Straight from the second have kick off Hull city were once again launching attacks with Orange shirts flooding towards substitute keeper Lonergan with David Meyler firing high over the crossbar after some more good play from yet again Sone Aluko

Hull were playing good football and making all the right tackles and passes and were really stamping down their mark on the championship match.

Tom Cairney then had a chance for Fulham but his shot flew high and wide but wasn't for the one to try as Fulham started to push for a way back into the match as the game was far from over...

The game was from then on became very end to end and soon Fulham's Ben Pringle picked out the 6"2 frame of Shaun Hutchinson who couldn't convert and instead saw his effort sail over the woodwork.

Fulham were then given a way back into the match in the 69th.

They took it.

Lasse Vigen Christensen found fellow midfielder Cairney on the right who shot in a left footed strike from outside the box past McGregor and into the top right of the net. Game on.

Hull City then went for an attacking option by swapping on loan Arsenal striker Akpom with Veteran, Nikica Jelavić.

Another Gunners Loanee was then introduced into the mix with defender Isaac Hayden replacing Huddlestone who in truth had been relatively quiet throughout the night.

Fulham continued to stay on the backfoot as hull continued to press. Substitute Nikica Jelavic then found the man of the night Sone Aluko who proceeded to somewhat scuff the ball but was fortunate enough to beat the oncoming Fulham Keeper and get the ball somehow across the line. It was 2-1 to hull in the 86th and the away fan ls were slowly leaving the KC with faces reminiscent of last season.

They weren't to miss anything though as Fulham Failed to stage a late equaliser as the Steve Bruce's men took all three points through another home win which now meant a fourth win in 6 at the KC while Fulham still sit on 1 point in 3 attempts.

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
