Report: Southampton 3-0 Leicester

SOUTHAMPTON piled further misery onto Champions Leicester at St Mary's on Sunday lunchtime. The result means Leicester remain without a win away from home in the league this season. The Saints who had lost their last four league games outclassed their opponents from the first whistle to the last. They took the lead through James Ward-Prowse his first goal in 22 games, and it was his free-kick that led to the hosts second from Jay Rodriguez before Dusan Tadic tucked home a late penalty to make it 3-0. This result means Leicester are without an away win in 11 league games, having won the same amount on their travels en route to the title last season. They have now conceded 37 goals in their 22 games which is 1 more than the whole of last season. The result leaves the Champions 5 points and 5 places above the bottom three, while the Saints move up to 11th. In this fixture last season the hosts took a 2-0 lead into half-time before a Jamie Vardy double saw Leicester come...

Is it time up for Pardew

Is this weekend the very last chance for Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace? Pardew has been in charge at Palace since 3 January 2015 Pardew’s men are on a run of six consecutive defeats in the Premier League. Palace have won just five Premier League games throughout the whole of 2016 and sit 17 th in the table. The only good part of 2016 for Palace was their run to the FA Cup Final in May which they went on to lose 2-1 to Manchester United at Wembley. The facts are not good for Palace just 22 points from 31 games throughout 2016 is extremely poor, after such a good 2015 where Palace were occupying a place in the Premier League’s top six, the wheels have well and truly come off for Pardew’s men. A run like this is not uncommon in an Alan Pardew team, remember that awful run with Newcastle just before he took over at Palace. However, before he left for Selhurst Park he had found a way out of the run and led the side up the table, Palace fans are hoping that he can ...

JACKETT QUITS MILLERS

Kenny Jackett has left his post as Rotherham manager. Jackett was in charge for just 5 games Jackett offered his resignation on Saturday after the defeat against Leeds United which left the club bottom of the table and with one win in eighteen matches this season that came against Brentford. Jackett replaced former Hibs manager Alan Stubbs who was sacked earlier in the campaign.   A statement on the clubs website read: ‘Following the game against Leeds United at the weekend, Kenny Jackett tendered his resignation and accordingly, his employment with the Club has been terminated with immediate effect. Kenny’s resignation came as a shock and is disappointing. The club will now focus on making appropriate arrangements for the first team. ‘ It is believed the main reason for his departure was that he would not be given the backing needed needed to re-build the squad in the January transfer window. The club are now looking for ...
