Nigel Adkins Early Favourite To Get Sacked

The European Championships are now over meaning football fans worldwide have already started counting down the days to the dawn of the eagerly anticipated new Premier League season. There are now just over six weeks until the 2012/13 campaign kicks-off on Saturday 18th August and if we have even half of the drama, controversy and pure entertainment of the previous season then we are all in for an absolute treat. A staggering seven top flight clubs have made managerial changes since the end of last season, while four gaffers will be testing their credentials in the Premier League for the first time.

Stan James have installed Southampton manager Nigel Adkins as the early 5/2 favourite to get sacked first. the Saints may be carrying a lot of momentum after winning back to back promotions to the Premier league but the computer has given them a very hard start to life back in England's top league with Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal in the first month of the season the south-coast club could find themselves in some hot water and a long way back.

The New West Brom gaffer Steve Clark is next in the running at 5/1, he has been handed a tough start to life as a manager with matches against Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton and therefore will need to rely on his experience as assistant at Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool.

Sam Allardyce 8/1 will be looking to build on a successful first season in charge of West Ham but knows that a decent start is crucial. The Hammers have a testing Christmas period with games against Tottenham, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool in the space of 16 days. You never know if Big Sam’s side start to wobble then there could be calls for the out-of-work Harry Redknapp to make a sensational return to Upton Park.

After leading Chelsea to a incredible FA Cup and Champions League double last season now means that big things are expected of young Roberto Di Matteo he is at 9/1 but like any other Chelsea boss if results are not good enough the pressure will build on him and we all know what happens to managers at Stamford Bridge when you upset the owner, Di Matteo will want to do better than former boss Andre Villas Boas, who himself will be looking to make a fresh start at Tottenham, but if he ends up in the same kind of problems as he did at Chelsea he could be a good bet at 25/1.

New Liverpool Boss Brendan Rodgers is priced at 16/1 as well as the man who replaced him at Swansea Michael Laudrup Paul Lambert has been handed 25/1 to be sacked from his new role at Villa. Chris Hughton is at 12/1, Wigan boss Martinez is at 20/1 along with QPR boss Mark Hughes. Meanwhile Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini and Arsene Wenger all have long odds of 66/1.

Sacking Chris Hughton - Is it the right decision?

Another season has come to an end. This is the period where you will see managers come and go and players come in and depart clubs. The 2018/19 has now come to and end and Brighton finished in 17th place. I believe that if you had offered that to them most Brighton fans would have accepted a third successive season of Premier League football. Add onto that, The Seagulls also made the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Chris Hughton has paid the price for Brighton's poor form in 2019. This decision however, seems extremely harsh. Here is his overall record in charge of the club. Games: 215 Wins: 88 Draws: 57 Defeats: 70 That works out to a win percentage of around 40% that is not bad for a team that's budget is pennies compared to some in the Premier League. Brighton staying in the top flight is an achievement in its self and something that should not be looked over.  Hughton took over at Brighton back in 2014 when the club was struggling at the bottom of t...

Barclays Premier League Preview: Southampton v Everton

Ronald Koeman will return to the dugout this weekend after missing last week's match at Newcastle after having ankle surgery.  He will be hoping that his Saints side can cut out the errors as they welcome Everton to St Mary's this weekend. Southampton needed a Shane Long header 11 minutes from time to rescue a point against Steve McClaren's men at St James' Park last Sunday and the Southampton boss saw plenty of areas for Improvement. 'I wasn't impressed because I was not happy about the first half. Already in the Vitesse match we had too many mistakes the same in the first half at Newcastle." "All the dangers of Newcastle came from faults. The second half the reaction of the players and the physical state in the last 15 minutes was very good because we had the best chances to win the game" "Starting the season with a draw away against Newcastle isn't a bad result bur normally, if we play our level we win the game. " Sou...
