OWEN Coyle has been named the new manager of Wigan this afternoon on a 12 month rolling contract. Coyle replaces Roberto Martinez who joined Everton last week.
Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan had this is to say after the news broke earlier this afternoon (14th June) "I have agreed a deal in principal with Owen and his agent is now with our Chief Executive to finalise the deal, but as far as i am concerned we have sorted it and i hope the rest will be sorted out in the next hour.
Coyle managed Bolton between 2010 and 2012 before being sacked 5 months after being relegated from the Premier League. He now takes over the 2013 FA Cup winners.
