Manchester City v Sunderland

Manchester City 3-3 Sunderland

Is Manchester City’s title mission falling apart after losing their 100% home recorded

Manchester City’s title challenge is starting to crumble after another poor performance, they came from 3-1 down to scramble a 3-3 draw with Sunderland. It is now advantage Manchester United in the title race they can go 5 points clear on Monday night.

From the first ball Sunderland were better and played with lots of confidence you may of even thought that Sunderland were the team challenging for the title with Man Utd instead of City.

All of Sunderland’s good work and pressure paid off when Sessengon found him self in miles of space he then squared the ball to Larsson who then placed a perfect shot down into the left hand corner leaving Joe Hart with absolute no chance.

After Sunderland had scored City looked to respond and they had a few chances but noting came of them but 12 minutes after Larsson’s goal Dzeko went down in the box after collision with Craig Gardner Mario Balotelli stood yup and scored the penalty after 41 minutes and City looked to maintain the record of never being behind at half time this season.

There was a dramatic twist in first half stoppage time, Sunderland were awarded a free kick it was taken quickly and a cross came in and Bendtner headed home to make sure Sunderland would lead at half time.

City were yet to see the worst of the game as they would fall further behind when City left the filed wide open for Larsson who passed the ball to Bendtner to put it back across goal and Larsson side footed home for 3-1 Sunderland after 55 Minutes.

After the goal Sunderland were still creating chances. Mancini had seen enough so he brought on Carlos Tevez who made an impact. City only came into the game in the last 5 minutes and got 1 back through Mario Balotelli scored to give City a chance, and proved big because when that went in the crowed lifted and got behind the team Mancini still not happy didn’t get up from his seat.

Sunderland must of thought they had held on but a drive from Kolorv brought City level and Mancini jumped out of his seat. He said after the game that it was a poor performance by his team and SUndrland deserved to win.

Sacking Chris Hughton - Is it the right decision?

Another season has come to an end. This is the period where you will see managers come and go and players come in and depart clubs. The 2018/19 has now come to and end and Brighton finished in 17th place. I believe that if you had offered that to them most Brighton fans would have accepted a third successive season of Premier League football. Add onto that, The Seagulls also made the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Chris Hughton has paid the price for Brighton's poor form in 2019. This decision however, seems extremely harsh. Here is his overall record in charge of the club. Games: 215 Wins: 88 Draws: 57 Defeats: 70 That works out to a win percentage of around 40% that is not bad for a team that's budget is pennies compared to some in the Premier League. Brighton staying in the top flight is an achievement in its self and something that should not be looked over.  Hughton took over at Brighton back in 2014 when the club was struggling at the bottom of t...

Ronald Koeman will return to the dugout this weekend after missing last week's match at Newcastle after having ankle surgery.  He will be hoping that his Saints side can cut out the errors as they welcome Everton to St Mary's this weekend. Southampton needed a Shane Long header 11 minutes from time to rescue a point against Steve McClaren's men at St James' Park last Sunday and the Southampton boss saw plenty of areas for Improvement. 'I wasn't impressed because I was not happy about the first half. Already in the Vitesse match we had too many mistakes the same in the first half at Newcastle." "All the dangers of Newcastle came from faults. The second half the reaction of the players and the physical state in the last 15 minutes was very good because we had the best chances to win the game" "Starting the season with a draw away against Newcastle isn't a bad result bur normally, if we play our level we win the game.
