Is it time up for Pardew

Is this weekend the very last chance for Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace? Pardew has been in charge at Palace since 3 January 2015 Pardew’s men are on a run of six consecutive defeats in the Premier League. Palace have won just five Premier League games throughout the whole of 2016 and sit 17 th in the table. The only good part of 2016 for Palace was their run to the FA Cup Final in May which they went on to lose 2-1 to Manchester United at Wembley. The facts are not good for Palace just 22 points from 31 games throughout 2016 is extremely poor, after such a good 2015 where Palace were occupying a place in the Premier League’s top six, the wheels have well and truly come off for Pardew’s men. A run like this is not uncommon in an Alan Pardew team, remember that awful run with Newcastle just before he took over at Palace. However, before he left for Selhurst Park he had found a way out of the run and led the side up the table, Palace fans are hoping that he can ...

JACKETT QUITS MILLERS

Kenny Jackett has left his post as Rotherham manager. Jackett was in charge for just 5 games Jackett offered his resignation on Saturday after the defeat against Leeds United which left the club bottom of the table and with one win in eighteen matches this season that came against Brentford. Jackett replaced former Hibs manager Alan Stubbs who was sacked earlier in the campaign.   A statement on the clubs website read: ‘Following the game against Leeds United at the weekend, Kenny Jackett tendered his resignation and accordingly, his employment with the Club has been terminated with immediate effect. Kenny’s resignation came as a shock and is disappointing. The club will now focus on making appropriate arrangements for the first team. ‘ It is believed the main reason for his departure was that he would not be given the backing needed needed to re-build the squad in the January transfer window. The club are now looking for ...

Alex's Predictions

The Premier League and Championship are back after the International break, and I am here with my predictions for this weekends games in the Premier League. Manchester United vs Arsenal - Saturday 12.30PM (Sky Sports 1) Facts United have lost only one of the last ten Premier League matches vs Arsenal (W6 D3)  Jose has never lost against Arsenal in the Premier League winning five and drawing six Wayne Rooney has scored 14 goals against arsenal only Aston Vila have conceded more to the United captain (15) There have been SIX missed penalties out of ten in this fixture at Old Trafford that is more than any other game at any venue. Head to Head Matches Played: 48 Manchester United wins: 22 (15 Home, 7 Away) Arsenal Wins: 12 (9 Home, 3 Away) Draws: 14 W This is a tough one to call , United and Mourinho have a good record against Arsenal especially at Old Trafford in recent years, (remember 8-2?), Wenger's men have struggled at Old Trafford an...

GERRARD CLOSING IN ON MK DONS JOB

STEVEN Gerrard is closing in on his first job in football management, according to sources he  has held talks with MK Dons. Gerrard who announced that he was leaving L.A Galaxy after two seasons in America. He has been linked with a return to Liverpool in a coaching role as well as linking up with former manager Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. This now looks like it won't be happening and that Stevie G is about to land his first role in management. Should he take over at Stadium:mk he would be taking over at a side who currently sit in the League One relegation places and still winless at home.

VILLA SACK DI MATTEO

ASTON Villa have sacked Roberto Di Matteo after just 12 games in charge.  Villa have won just 1 of their games in the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League last season. Villa sit 19th in the Championship table and the club have felt it imperative that a change needs to be made. From the graphic below you can see that his time in charge was one of difficulties. From this graphic you can see that he had 12 games in charge of the club since his arrival on the 2nd June, the team won 1 match during his tenure a 3-0 over Rotherham at Villa Park, as you can see there is only 4 defeats however one of them came to Walsall in the EFL Cup. Steve Bruce is the current odds on favourite to replace Di Matteo in the Villa hot seat, David Wagner and Sam Allardyce are also in the frame. Di Matteo sacked by Villa

MANCHESTER UNITED CONFIRM VAN GAAL EXIT

MANCHESTER UNITED have sacked Louis Van Gaal.  This is the confirmation that we have been waiting for since the news first broke on Saturday evening after United and Van Gaal had won a record 12th F.A Cup. Van Gaal was appointed as David Moyes's successor in June 2014 and led United to a 4th placed finish in the Premier League last season. It looks to be the last job that Van Gaal will have in football before he retires, he had planned to retire at the end of next season at the end of his contract. A statement on the Man United website read: Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said: "I would like to thank Louis and his staff for their excellent work in the past two years culminating in winning a record-equalling 12th FA Cup for the club (and securing him a title in four different countries). He has behaved with great professionalism and dignity throughout his time here. He leaves us with a legacy of having given several young players the confidence to show their ab...
