Season Review: Bournemouth

Bournemouth enjoyed their second season in the Premier League and achieved their best ever league finish.

Season Summary:

Premier League: 9th (+7)
Total Points: 46 (+4)
F.A Cup: Third Round
EFL Cup: Third Round
Top Scorer: Josh King (15)

Season Review:

This could have been a tough season for Eddie Howe and Bournemouth but it was a season that for the majority of the time went rather smoothly and they want on to beat last seasons points tally and secure a top ten finish.

Not of all the summer singings made by Eddie Howe paid off and Bournemouth had to wait until mid March for their first win of 2017. Once they got that win they were up and running. The season will be remembered for the highs like beating Hull 6-1 and that cracking 4-3 win over Liverpool in December. The one low point was the performance, mance in the F.A Cup 3rd round when they were well beaten by League One Millwall.

There are plenty of players who have enhanced their reputations and the club will now need to hold onto them players and continue to build for next season.

Manager Review:

Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job to lead a club the size of Bournemouth with their budget to a top 10 finish in the Premier League. To beat last seasons points tally is fantastic and there will a few clubs  looking at him in years to come.

Player of the Season - Josh King

Josh King has had an excellent campaign. He really had to step up after the injury to Callum Wilson and he did. He netted 15 goals for the club which is brilliant and his goals have got them to a very good 9th place finish. There will be clubs looking at him I'm sure, all he needs to do is stay at Bournemouth and continue to progress next season.

2017/18 Prospects:

They way they have ended this season they will be looking at another top half finish next season. I think they will be able to achieve that however, they do need to look at their goals against column they have conceded a lot and I think they may need some reinforcements in that back four.

2017/18 Top 10 finish odds: 11/4

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
