Season Review: Burnley

Burnley enjoyed their first season back in the Premier League after a year away.

Season Summary:

Premier League: 16th
Total Points: 40
F.A Cup: Fifth Round
EFL Cup: Second Round
Top Scorer: Sam Vokes (10)

Season Review:

Burnley returned to the top flight after a season away with the aim of avoiding relegation and for the first time in their history they will have a second successive season in the Premier League.

They even staved off the threat of relegation with time to spare, thanks largely to their home form. Not many teams were able to win at Turf Moor, Liverpool, Everton and Leicester were just three of the sides that were beaten at the stadium during the campaign.

However, away from home it was a different story. Dyche's men managed just one away win all season and they had to wait until March for that win at Crystal Palace. They will now hope to continue that home form into next season and try to pick up more points away from home.

Manager Review:

Sean Dyche has done an incredible job at Burnley since he took over at the club. He has led them to promotion to the Premier League twice and has done a fabulous job again this season. The way that he  has managed to lead them to safety is incredible, there will be bigger clubs looking at him in the future and Burnley will want to hold onto him.

Player of the Season - Tom Heaton

Not only has he proved to be a fantastic keeper and is now firmly a pick in the England squad. He has made some fantastic saves this season and has kept Burnley in a lot of games especially away from home. It was a close call between him and Michael Keane.

2017/18 Prospects:

Burnley must improve away from home next season otherwise I feel they will struggle to avoid the drop, with some depurates expected including that of Michael Keane i expect them to strengthen in the summer in those defensive areas.

FT REPORT: CRYSTAL PALACE 0-1 TOTTENHAM

HARRY KANE broke Crystal Palace hearts as he headed home an 88th minute winner at Selhurst Park.  It was Kane's 35th goal of the season and his 150th career club goal, the goal equalled his record of goals for last season as he once again looks on course for another stunning season in front of goal. His header broke the hearts of Palace who were denied a precious point in the battle against relegation. One man who will be thanking Kane for scoring will be Spurs right back Serge Aurier who had missed an open goal a few minutes prior to Kane's goal. The result saw Spurs go above Chelsea into the top four on goal difference before the Blues's trip to Manchester United. The defeat for Palace see's them remain 17th in the table outside the drop zone on goal difference. They also play Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in three of their next four fixtures. It was a tight and tense affair in the first half and Spurs were unlucky to be denied two penalties....
