FT REPORT: LEICESTER CITY 3-2 ASTON VILLA

FT REPORT: LEICESTER CITY V ASTON VILLA Sundays Later kick off between Leicester City and Aston Villa was a big game for Leicester fans as there was potential for Ranieri's side to go second in the table. Tim Sherwood opted to rest full back Ciaran Clarke in favour of deadline day signing Joleon Lescott. And the defender was right in amongst the action from the word go as Okazaki tried to round him and get a shot away only for it to be blocked. This was a warning to Villa that Leicester would be a tough opponent. However, man of the hour Scott Sinclair, arguably should have scored in the first ten minutes. Agbonlahor drilled a pass across the face of goal but Scott Sinclair sliding attempt saw the ball whistle past the post. The game was very lively and end to end in the first quarter of an hour and it wasn't long before another chance for Villa came as Carles Gil capitalised on a hesitant Schlupp and managed to pick out Grealish in the box, however it was bread and but...

Going into the game, many would have expected Charlton to have bagged the points after the international break had given the south London side time to allow their injury ridden squad to recuperate.  Rotherham have lost all but one of their opening 5 games going into the campaign and judging by their managers, Steve Evans, body language they were desperate for their first win.  With the match underway it was immediate action in the Rotherham half with Igor Vetokele finding star man Gudmundsonn who's shot from outside the box was saved by Rotherham keeper Lee camp.  The Home side continued to keep the pressure on the Yorkshire club and it was then Gudmundsonn finding Jordan Cousins near the penalty spot but ...
