A FANS VIEW: BARNSLEY

AS we reach the business end of the season the League tables have dictated which teams are going to be in the running for promotion, the play-offs and relegation.

Over the coming days I am going to be looking at different clubs who are fighting across these three fronts and speaking to fans of those clubs.

In this article I am talking to Barnsley fan Ryan.

What have you made of Barnsley's season?

Pretty underwhelming compared to last season but improvements are being made and we are on the up.

Has the season lived up to your pre-season expectations and what were your expectations?

To be honest, yes as we lost a few of our best players, then having problems with Mcburnine singing but I was hoping we would be a bit higher up in the table.

Who have been Barnsley's key players this season?

Probably Liam Lindsey and Adam Davies have been our most consistent players this season but Mcburnie is becoming a key player for us now.

Obviously there has been a manager change what did you think of Paul Heckingbottom's choice to join Leeds and what have you made of your new manager?

Honestly I thought it was time for a change as we only won once in 14 games, but I was surprised he went to Leeds after turning down Sunderland. Since the change we have picked up a few positive results and things are looking better.

What have been Barnsley's key results for you this season?

Probably both of the wins over Sunderland and the winner a few weeks ago over Birmingham at St. Andrews. Also the draw with Sheffield Wednesday as it was the game after Hecky left and we needed to prove a point.

Do you think you can beat the drop this season?

I think we can as there has been a big improvement in recent weeks.

Which three sides do you reckon will be relegated from the Championship at the end of the season?

I think Sunderland, Burton and the 3rd team is a hard one to pick but I'll say Birmingham.

Which sides will go up automatically and which sides will make the top six?

Wolves and Cardiff will be the top two. In no specific order, Villa, Derby, Fulham, Boro. I think Fulham could win the play-offs.

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
