A FANS VIEW: BOLTON WANDERERS

AS we reach the business end of the season the League tables have dictated which teams are going to be in the running for promotion, the play-offs and relegation.

Over the coming days I am going to be looking at different clubs who are fighting across these three fronts and speaking to fans of those clubs.

The Stadium Guide

In this article I am talking to Bolton fan Neil.

What have you made of Bolton's season?

I would have been delighted with 20th before the season started. I  honestly didn't think we would stay up under the transfer embargo and everything else so I will be very happy if we stay where we are now.

Has the season lived up to your pre-season expectations and what were your expectations?

If it finished now then it would be above our expectations. I think most fans despite what they might have said publicly would not have been surprised if we were relegated, even more so after only taking two points from the first 11 games!

Who have been Bolton's key players this season?

I would say definitely Gary Madine before he left to join Cardiff. Maybe Karl Henry and we seem to have missed Mark Little in the last couple of games.

What have been Bolton's key results for you this season?

Our first win of the season against Sheffield Wednesday as that gave us our momentum and some hope. Also our win at Sheffield United which was our first away win in the Championship for 3 years.

Do you think you can beat the drop this season?

I'm hopeful as we still have a few of the teams around us still to play.

Which three sides do you reckon will be relegated from the Championship at the end of the season?

Sunderland, Burton and Birmingham.

Which sides will go up automatically and which sides will make the top six?

Wolves will go up but they should do with the players that they have brought in. Second place is up for grabs between Cardiff and Fulham whoever misses out will be in the play-offs with Villa and Derby. I fancy Boro to get the last spot with Villa to run out as play-off winners.

FT REPORT: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM

MANCHESTER CITY put Wednesday's Champions League disappointment behind them after beating Spurs 1-0 to put the pressure back onto Liverpool in the title race.  (C) Manchester City  City came flying out of the blocks right away. It didn't take long to get in front. Bernando Silva's cross found Sergio Aguero, who had too much space in the box and headed across goal for Phil Foden who headed in from close range after just five minutes.  That was Foden's first Premier League goal on his second ever Premier League start. City continued to create chances but failed to take them. Aguero thought he was in after being played through by Bernando Silva but he was flagged offside.  Paulo Ganzaniga came into the starting lineup as one of five Tottenham changes. He however, was looking fragile. He made a number of errors that only gave City confidence. Trying to chip the ball over a player five yards out was one of a number of things the keeper attempted that c...
